How can therapy help?
Therapy depends largely on how you view life.
I prefer to look upon this life as a journey within the universe. We are here to learn, to do and to enjoy. There is no point dwelling in the past and feeling regret or guilt for things we could have done better or feeling resentment for our lot in life. We have the power to make changes and to turn the negative into positive. We can do this alone (takes longer and can be harder) or at times we can recognise that sharing with a friend or therapist can both help and move us further along our way into greater freedom. No-one has all the answers and as we mature we realise the more we learn, the more there is to know!
If you were to read the life stories of many successful people, you will find that most, had incredible obstacles to overcome and many so-called mistakes. One of the key ingredients to the life of a successful person - and remember people view of success can vary a great deal - is that they do not give up. Another is that deep down they believe there is a chance that they can get there and that it is worth trying! Our deep held beliefs about ourselves in our subconscious often hold us back and by working on those beliefs to make them more positive, we can unlock the doors to a brighter and better future. That is fact, because people have proved it over and over again - often through having therapy and especially by being prepared to work at it.
